Artist Statement Art making is an essential part of my life. I like being in a fluid state more than in a solid state. I prefer to be able to work with more than one medium and I like to be flexible in my thoughts. Thus my art discipline tends to explore a broad range of works from formal abstract to representational, conceptual, and symbolic. Shapes and colors in my paintings and drawings evoke figurative qualities which embrace certain emotions, characteristics and individualities. My current interest and motivation is to create positive abstract images as a counter-response to the use of negative themes and images in newspapers, broadcasting media, works of art, and the world around us. I believe negative thinking will continue to increase the number of depressed and unmotivated people. I believe that a positive mental attitude is the key to make people's lives delightful and enjoyable. In this sense, my work acts as a positive means to convey messages of optimism and playfulness to the viewer. Awards 2006 Bank of Montreal 1st ART!
