I believe that pottery is an art form that is tactile and meant to be held, touched and used. Pottery should also be beautiful but not so that the beauty stops it from being used but so that it may beautify a meal or glass of wine.

My work is inspired by the thought that simple is beautiful. My forms are simple with clean lines that encourage touch. My glazes and method of glazing are inspired from nature or other people's interpretation of nature.

The glaze called "Marble" was inspired by wheat fields, mosses, grasses and the rocks of the prairies.

The glaze I call G/7 is, as the initials indicate, influenced by the Group of Seven whose bright bold colours I have tried to display on the earth they so beautifully painted.
